Nightlife of Phuket Phuket Nightlife is one of the main attractions that Phuket offers its tourists. Many of the tourists visiting the tropical Thai island list the world famous Phuket nightlife and the Phuket ladies as the major reasons for coming to Phuket. Unfortunately the nightlife in Phuket had become restricted under the former Prime Minister who was recently removed from office. More then one or 2 Phuket bar girls or Phuket bar owners had a few extra drinks that day! Phuket Girls The Phuket girls employed at the Phuket beer bars, discos and Patong a go-go bars are in fact the reason for the Phuket nightlife being so much fun. Where else in the world can a ugly old guy like you end up with so many beautiful women? (I am just kidding you) The cute Phuket bar girls in the Phuket nightlife can normally be seen performing amazing wild dance shows in both the Patong discos like Tiger Disco as well as on the bar counters at one of the many Phuket bars along Soi Bangla. Some of the beer bars in Phuket even have mirrors on the floor so that the dirty old Germans can peek up the mini-skirts of the Patong girls while they are dancing on a platform or right on top of the bar.  Phuket nightlife certainly is interesting. It's good fun but please do us all a favour and don't start trying to copy them after a few beers and start stripping on the dance podium as well. It's amazing to witness how many guys you can find in the Phuket nightlife venues end up completely wasted and start thinking they are reborn Phuket bar girls. Soi Bangla  - Patong Nightlife Most of the Phuket bars and other Phuket nightlife establishments are in located in Patong. You can find most of the Phuket beers bars and other Phuket nightlife venues along the main road in Patong which runs from the beach road land inwards. This road is the legendary Soi Bangla and it has a number of smaller roads leading into it which include Soi Easy, Soi Eric, Soi Seadragon and Soi Gonzo which are all filled with different Phuket nightlife establishments. Tourists staying in another resort area on Phuket such as Kamala beach or Karon beach need not worry as there are Phuket nightlife spots including Phuket beer bars and clubs spread throughout the island. There are some great normal Phuket nightlife places including music clubs and regular fun pubs in Phuket town which are well worth a visit. Phuket Town at Night The experience of spending a night partying in Phuket town is very different Phuket nightlife experience then having a night out in Patong or Karon. You will find regular Thai people there who are all having fun and you wont encounter any bar girls bothering you every two minutes as you would in Phuket nightlife venues in Patong beach. The whole Phuket nightlife experience is a lot more low key however wouldn't it be fun if you could score a Thai babe without actually having to pay her? That is the challenge guys! Phuket Beer Bars Phuket beer bars and Phuket bar girls are a long time favourite of many tourists as well as US Navy sailors. Many Phuket bars open early on in the day and only close in the early hours of the morning. Other Phuket nightlife venues including Phuket GoGo bars and Patong discos open later in the day but also remain open to early the next morning. Generally it's not much fun to hang out at these Patong beer bars during the day as the girls don't have their make up on yet and their faces aren't always a pretty sight without their 2 inches of various creams and colours. The girls do appear a lot more attractive later on in the evening when they are working at one of the Phuket nightlife venues. The majority of Phuket bars and Phuket nightlife establishments are located in Patong and you will surely find a new Phuket bar or a Phuket nightlife venue each time you visit the island. There are simply so many of these Patong beer bars and other Phuket nightlife clubs and pubs and they seem to be in every little alley. If you decide to forget about the return flight back to home then you might be able to manage. There are more then a few expats in Phuket who came on holiday and never left again due to the fabalous Phuket nightlife and the sweet Phuket girls! Patong Bars The most popular area for Phuket bars and other types of Phuket nightlife venues is the Soi Bangla and its side streets such as Soi Gonzo, Soi Eric and Soi Seadragon. During low season the average Patong bar will not be very busy. Fewer Phuket bar girls will be also be working in Patong during the low season. As the high season comes in sight, many of the bar girls move back to Phuket from a stay abroad or from the Isaan region to dive into the Phuket nightlife and to hook up with the many foreigners that are then staying on the island. The high season from November until April makes up for slower months as the Phuket bars and Phuket nightlife places are packed with both single male tourists as well as couples all having a great time. Early Closing Times for the Bars on Phuket Phuket bars and other Phuket nightlife businesses have suffered some setbacks with the new rules and laws set by the government as closing hours changed and Phuket bars have had to close up earlier then before. Many tourists as well as bar owners and Phuket bar girls have been outraged as one of the charms of bars in Thailand and the Phuket nightlife in general was its late closing time. There will be periods that the bars will stay open later then officially allowed and then there will be periods when the nice gentlemen of the Phuket police force will check the bars. This is mostly the case when a government official or the Phuket governor comes to town. Possibly the new Thai government will reverse bar and disco closing times as the former Thai Prime Minister Thaksin was the one that had pushed for the strict Phuket bar closing times and somewhat ruined the famous Phuket nightlife scene.. The average Phuket bar is build in U shape and is somewhat small in size. There will be 10 or 15 bar stools at the counter with often a piece of big wood nearby. Patong Bar Games The wood is placed on a form of table and the Phuket bar girls will play a game with the guests. This game involved trying to hit a nail all the way down and using only the small side of a hammer. It sure looks easier then it is. The Phuket bar girls normally beat the clients and this will often cost the guys a beer. It's good fun and it still surprises me each time how a completely drunken Phuket bar girl can still manage to get the nail down with 2 or 3 blows. I am lucky to even touch the nail at all. Another great bar game that is played in nearly all the Phuket bars is connect 4. Its a great game to play while enjoying your time with one of the bar ladies and a nice cold Chang beer. Phuket Discos There are a relatively small number of discos in Phuket. Almost all of the Phuket discos and other main Phuket nightlife venues are located in Patong Beach. Many of the Phuket clubs and other large Phuket nightlife businesses have changed names over the years due to different reasons so don't worry if you suddenly hear names you never heard of. The greatest Phuket disco and Phuket nightlife venue of all times was the Canadian owned Shark Club which was located on the corner of Soi Bangla across the street of Patong's Tiger Disco. Shark Club Phuket Story The Shark Club Phuket was owned by a nice Canadian expat however the local officials and Thai club owners were not too pleased with the Shark club ruling the Phuket nightlife scene. It came to no surprise that he was more or less kicked out of Thailand and the Shark club was taken away from by local officials. The official reason for him being thrown out was absurd. A local Phuket newspaper suddenly published a photo from inside the Shark club Phuket which had been taken at the time of a wet t-shirt competition and one of the girls decided to show it all. The local government saw the photo in the newspaper and decided to take action against the owner for running a illegal operation. It is widely believed that this whole thing was staged by various local parties that had an interest in the Shark club disappearing from the Phuket nightlife scene. A number of Phuket discos have survived and are the leaders among the Phuket night life venues. One such great Phuket nightlife spot is the Banana disco long the beach road in Patong. The Banana disco in Phuket is often preferred by couples who are on holiday as well as the slightly older crowd. The Safari club and pub is located on the hill just on the outskirts of Patong along the road going to Karon. The Phuket Safari disco is often open later then all the other clubs in Phuket and its a great place to be when its busy. It's one of my favorite Phuket nightlife locations. Phuket discos are strange in a way that one year this club is by far the most popular and then the year after the situation completely changes and another nightclub is booming. It's hard to see why this happens but it's great for visitors that come each year for the Phuket nightlife scene. Patong Tiger Disco The current hot spot in the Phuket nightlife scene is the Tiger disco Phuket. The Phuket Tiger disco complex which is located at the beginning of Soi Bangla consists of a large number of bars at ground level of the Phuket nightlife Tiger entertainment complex. The large and well equipped Patong Tiger disco is located on the first floor of the Phuket Tiger entertainment complex and it the leading Phuket nightlife destination. Most male tourists seem to think that the best Phuket girls are to be found at either the Patong Tiger Disco or at one of the many Phuket beer bars on the ground floor. So as you can see, there are plenty of Phuket nightlife options to explore. Enjoy yourself guys and go and explore all that Phuket nightlife has to offer you.
